Suzy King was born in Sydney and has lived in and around the Balmain Peninsula for the past 17 years. She always enjoyed art as a child, influenced by an artistic grandfather, she used illustration and painting where possible throughout her school years.
Suzy went on to Hornsby and Randwick TAFE Colleges (now Sydney Institute Design Centre) to complete a degree in graphic design, pursuing a career in that field.
She worked for a number of boutique design studios and finally began her own business in 1983. Specialising mostly in the corporate and pharmaceutical industry sectors, she has won numerous design awards
both locally and internationally.
Her love of art, however, never faded. At art college she studied for 2 years with noted landscape artist Clem Millward and more recently with
Stephen Wilson, Peter Griffen, and others.
As a lifetime design practitioner, Suzy knows how to use space, colour and texture to balance and enliven an image. Suzy chooses to work in oils, rich paints with rich textures, using her unique sense of style and colour to create fine contemporary works of art.
